ChatBot (BotEngine) has its origins in a research project created by the company Text (formerly LiveChat Software), which won with this project at hackathon in 2016.cite-ref-3[3]cite-ref-4[4]cite-ref-5[5] In August 2017, LiveChat launched a beta version of the BotEngine chatbots build platform.cite-ref-6[6]cite-ref-marketingdive-com-2-2[2]cite-ref-7[7]

In September 2017, LiveChat integrated with BotEngine.cite-ref-8[8]cite-ref-9[9] ChatBot, in its current form, was launched on February 21, 2018. In March 2018, BotEngine was released from its beta version.cite-ref-10[10] Later that year, the product has been rebranded to ChatBot, following the purchase of the chatbot.com domain.cite-ref-11[11]cite-ref-12[12]cite-ref-13[13] In October 2019, ChatBot added a feature to collect customized data about visitors who interacted with bots on websites or Facebook.cite-ref-14[14] In May 2020, ChatBot in partnership with Infermedica, launched COVID-19 Risk Assessment ChatBot.cite-ref-15[15]

In March 2021, ChatBot launched a new version of Visual Builder.cite-ref-16[16]

Overview

ChatBot is a platform for building automatic chatbots using artificial intelligence.cite-ref-17[17]cite-ref-18[18]

ChatBot constructs bots using integration with a range of tools including Facebook Messenger, LiveChat, Skype, KiK, Slack, Twitter and YouTube.cite-ref-19[19]cite-ref-20[20]cite-ref-21[21]

In 2020, the number of ChatBot clients reached 1,000, includingcite-ref-22[22] UEFA, Unilever, HTC, Kayak, Danone, Moody's, GM.cite-ref-23[23]cite-ref-24[24] ChatBot supports multiple non-profit organizations,cite-ref-25[25] including: European Mentoring and Coaching Council,cite-ref-26[26] Musculoskeletal Australia,cite-ref-27[27] Operation Kindnesscite-ref-28[28] and Tinnitus UK.cite-ref-29[29] It is mainly used for connecting and engaging with communities, and fundraising.cite-ref-30[30]
